FREE MUSIC CONCERTS
Monthly Listings

The Los Angeles County Arts Commission sponsors free concerts at community venues throughout Los Angeles County to provide access to quality music programming representing the diversity of County residents. The Arts Commission provides funds for the program, contracts the musicians and administers musician payments at rates established by the Musicians Union.

Free Concert Presenters

The Arts Commission accepts applications from community organizations interested in producing and marketing a free concert. Eligible organizations include Los Angeles County-based parks, libraries, hospitals, juvenile halls, probation camps, arts organizations, civic centers, senior citizen centers, and other non-profit performance venues. Applicants must be willing to coordinate all logistics, production and marketing of the event, and show that they can effectively bring in an appropriate audience size for their proposed concert to be considered.

If you would like to receive an email notification in January 2009 when applications are available for the upcoming Free Concerts season (funding for concerts in May through October of 2009), please email publicevents@arts.lacounty.gov with "Free Concerts" in the subject line. Click on the Presenter Guidelines below for more information about the program criteria and application process.

Musicians Roster

The Arts Commission administers the Musicians Roster, the only Internet database of vetted musicians in Los Angeles County. Please click on the link above to survey the musicians and music styles available for Free Concerts in Public Sites. Each listing includes audio samples and other details about each group. Organizations applying for Free Concert sponsorship are REQUIRED to select musicians/groups from the Musicians Roster.

ATTENTION MUSICIANS: If you are interested in submitting an application for your musical group to be included on the Arts Commission’s Musicians Roster, please click on the link to the Musicians Roster at the top of this page for more information.
