LOS ANGELES COUNTY ARTS COMMISSION AWARDS
$4,518,000 IN GRANTS TO 155 COUNTY ARTS GROUPS

The Los Angeles County Arts Commission has announced $4,518,000 in two-year grants to 155 nonprofit arts organizations through its Organizational Grant Program (OGP). An estimated 9 million people will be served by the organizations receiving grants in the upcoming year.

History of the Arts Commission and Its Grant Program

The Los Angeles County Arts Commission was established (as the Los Angeles Music Commission) in 1947 for the purpose of distributing funds to music organizations. Its mandate broadened (as the Los Angeles County Music and Performing Arts Commission) to include other performing art disciplines. In 1997, the Commission was renamed the Los Angeles County Arts Commission to signify its support of all arts disciplines. Read more
