The Los Angeles County Arts Commission supports the arts sector in the County of Los Angeles through grants to nonprofit arts organizations and by providing professional development programs to both grantees and non-grantees of the Arts Commission.

WHAT WE FUND

The Arts Commission contracts approximately 200 arts organizations annually through the Organizational Grant Program (OGP) to provide arts services. Made possible through the generosity of the Board of Supervisors, grants for concerts, theatre and dance productions, exhibitions, in-school and out-of-school arts education and core operations help these organizations enrich the lives of County residents in large and small communities alike. This program insures that a wide variety of cultural services will continue to reach County residents

OGP provides two-year grants to nonprofit arts organizations and applications are accepted annually between the months from October to December. Deadlines, guidelines and application information will be posted late Summer 2012.

The current allocation of $4,118,000 for Fiscal Year 2012/13 represents level funding with 2010/11 and an 8.9% reduction from 2008/09, the last two times this group was eligible to receive grants through the  Organizational Grant Program. All organizations apply for two years of consecutive funding and all award amounts are for two years.

In addition, 84, or 48%, of 175 Fiscal Year 2012/13 OGP organizations have applied for funding to pay for salaries or job creation. This will positively impact the residents of Los Angeles County through increased job opportunities.
