Since 2004, Arts and Culture's Civic Art Program (Civic Art) has worked to both conserve and maintain artworks in the County's Civic Art Collection, and to commission both new artworks and "creative placekeeping" projects. During the 2018-19 fiscal year, Civic Art managed a total of 74 civic art projects, with 21 new projects initiated and 17 completed. These projects included an award-winning placekeeping project facilitated by artist Kim Ables at Malibu Conservation Camp #13, a new "skateable" sculpture at the Castaic Regional Sports complex, 19 original murals by artist Olalekan Jeyifous, and more.
