All County Departments have been directed to prepare for budget cuts to take effect in FY2025-26, which will be ongoing until further notice. For the Department of Arts and Culture, this cut is equal to $1,726,000 which will result in reductions to the Organizational Grant Program, Community Impact Arts Grants Program, and Arts Internship Program. Details are below.
Organizational Grant Program Impacts
The total available funding for the FY2025-26 Organizational Grant Program will be reduced from $5,668,000 to $5,059,000.
Timeline & Next Steps
In mid-July 2025, OGP awards, which are currently under review, will be announced and contracting will take place. Information about grant disbursement and all information needed to manage the grant will be provided with contracting materials.
Please note: if you are a FY 2024-25 Organizational Grant Program Grantee, your award will not be affected. As a reminder, your Year 1 award was paid in November 2024, and your Year 2 award will be paid in November 2025 at the amount confirmed in your grant agreement. Your organization may reapply to OGP in September 2025.

Community Impact Arts Grants Program Impacts
The total available funding for the FY2025-26 Community Impact Arts Grants Program will be reduced from $750,000 to $500,000.

Arts Internship Program Impacts
Reductions to the Arts Internship Program in FY2025-26 will not impact the current AIP 2025 program. All internship awards currently underway will continue unaffected.
For the 2026 AIP cycle, the total available funding for the Arts Internship Program is anticipated to be reduced from $1,618,000 to $856,000, reducing the number of funded internships from 228 to approximately 118. Additional updates will be shared when the grant guidelines are released in the fall and at application workshops
