Description

The Memories in the Making Project Intern will be responsible for the delivery of the Memories in the Making visual arts project, a project hosted at various community-based social service agencies and cultural institutions, providing support to L.A.’s older adult population. Memories in the Making is a unique fine arts therapy project developed for people with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias with the aim of offering people living with dementia a new, creative and nonverbal way of communicating and capturing precious moments through art. This position will work approximately 15-20 hours a week from July through February. 
 

Qualifications

Alzheimer’s LA will be looking for the following specialized skills:      - Computer literate (MS Office, Google Suite, PowerPoint, etc.);      - Willingness/flexibility to work with the older adult population;      - Interest or experience in arts-related activities;      - Ability to interact with persons of various social, cultural, and educational backgrounds;      - Ability to travel locally – California driver license and proof of automobile insurance and/or reliable transportation preferred
