The Community Engagement Arts Intern will support the Community Engagement Team. The intern will assist in planning and supporting arts based community workshops as well as collecting data for grants reporting. They will be a support to the Exhibits Coordinator in assisting with the gallery archive as well as supporting monthly First Friday art walks. The intern will be an integral part of supporting inclusion and accessibility in the gallery and in community settings. This position will work 15-20 per week through June 2025 to February 2026.
The intern must have experience in the arts such as in visual art, graphic design, music, theatre, dance, or similar fields. Suggested prospective degrees for the prospective intern include, but aren’t limited to, music, fine arts, education, media, communication, theatre, and dance. The intern should have strong organizational and communication skills, as well as be comfortable working in the community with diverse populations.
The core of Able ARTS Work programming is our 30-hour a week day program for adults with moderate to severe mental and physical disabilities. We also provide outreach services to 2,500 youth and adults that include client exhibitions and performances, and after school youth programs for music, theater, and art education.
