This toolkit includes a series of four main steps, which we recommend be completed in order. Each section contains specific guidance and worksheets.

- Step Two: How to collect information from the grantees and contractors who receive your capacity building services.
- Step Three: Methods for calculating the full cost of your capacity building services, including budgeted expenses and staff time.
- Step Four: How to take the information you’ve gathered and translate it into action, a key piece of any assessment process.
Below is a sample timeline to consider when planning and implementing this assessment process. This timeline assumes full implementation of the steps outlined in this toolkit and may be modified depending on the methods used and the timeframe available. We also offer an abridged version of this assessment process if your time is more limited.
