Description

In close collaboration with the Artistic and Administrative Directors and Marketing Manager, the Marketing & Program Intern’s primary project will be assisting with marketing and program efforts for our Young Theaterworks program including the “Youth Theater Summer Intensive” and our theatrical production “The Art of Dreaming: a landscape of L.A. voices”.  The Intern’s work will consist of: MARKETING—create a social media campaign for “The Art of Dreaming” to develop audience and engagement; create print/digital collateral and social media posts for all programs; assist other marketing efforts as assigned by the marketing team.  PROGRAMS—work on various production tasks for the “Youth Theater Summer Intensive”; and “The Art of Dreaming” as it moves from pre-production to full production including on-site and designer logistics and related educational materials, and assist the Program Director with duties as assigned.  Intern will work approx. 15-20 hours/wk from June to approx. Oct/Nov
 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be able to take direction and run with it. This requires enthusiasm, clear communication, good time management, and the ability to work well independently. They should have a passion for the performing arts in general, and a desire to learn about the L.A. arts and culture landscape. They should have excellent writing skills, and have experience with the Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite and Google apps. Experience with photo and/or video editing software and graphics programs are highly encouraged.  Other assets include marketing and/or community outreach experience; and production planning experience. Interest in Los Angeles history and familiarity with ensemble-based theater and/or theater by communities of color is very helpful. Preference will be given to those applicants with a serious interest in pursuing a career in the performing arts, arts education, arts administration, and/or marketing.
