This Archival Intern position offers a unique opportunity to help preserve and digitalize a rich history of South Asian classical music. You'll work closely with experts in the field, gaining hands-on experience in archiving, digital preservation, and music cataloging. This position will work approximately 20 hours a week from June through December.
 

Qualifications

Prospective applicants for this Archival Intern position should have strong organizational and communication skills. A background in information technology, library studies, or archival work is highly preferred. Familiarity with digital file management, transcription software, and music editing software is also beneficial. Candidates should be comfortable with digitizing materials, proofreading transcripts, and creating a searchable digital archive. Strong writing skills and proficiency in G-suite and Microsoft Office are a plus.

The Music Circle is a nonprofit cultural institution dedicated to fostering awareness and appreciation of South Asian classical music and arts. Founded in 1973, we present a series of concerts featuring renowned masters and emerging artists from both South Asia and North America, providing a vibrant platform for cultural exchange. Our mission is to preserve traditional music while inspiring the next generation of artists and audiences.
