Description

The Development Internship at the Filipino American Symphony Orchestra (FASO) is an opportunity to learn about resource development, event planning, non-profit administration in a dynamic work environment with seasoned musicians, producers, business professionals, and community leaders.  An internship with FASO is an opportunity to develop leadership skills through culturally sensitive approaches to music production and community organizing. Interns who work at FASO will understand how the arts are interwoven into the cultural fabric of communities of color. Interns will develop key skills in project management, communication, and networking while deepening their understanding of the work involved in nonprofit arts administration, and will gain experience in the production of a large-scale community arts event.  This position will work approximately 30 hours a week from June to November. 

Qualifications

The intern should be a self-motivated, highly focused, and team-oriented person with strong writing skills and social media fluency preferred. Basic graphic design is a plus. An interest in the arts and community-building is preferred but not required. The intern is expected to take an active role in understanding and supporting all aspects of the organization in order to better inform and supplement their experience.

The Filipino American Symphony Orchestra is a community orchestra that serves to provide access and reduce barriers to cultural participation for communities of color through symphony music production and education.
