Description

Greenway's Program and Marketing Intern will work closely with Natalie Iturbe Jackson, Greenway's Marketing Manager, and Christina Carrera, Greenway's Director of Student Programs. The position will help the Melrose Trading Post on a variety of marketing projects, including connecting with and promoting the local small businesses that are featured at the Melrose Trading Post, helping their business expand using our social media channels and weekly newsletter. This intern will also support the development of MTP's annual seasonal events: the MTP Halloween Dog Costume Contest and the Merry Melrose Holiday Markets. Additionally, the intern will provide programming and marketing support for our arts education programming. Working closely with the Greenway Institute for the Arts team, the intern will assist in coordinating after-school programming in musical theater and dance, student showcases, and the GreenwayREADS program, which brings over 400 students to the Greenway Court Theatre for matinees. This position will work approximately 15-20 hours a week from June 2026 through February 2027 until 400 hours have been completed.

 

Qualifications

The Program and Marketing Intern will possess strong written and oral communication skills and should be comfortable with working with a diversity of people including high school students. This candidate is self-motivated and flexible in performing a myriad of tasks. They should have a desire to learn the basics of Marketing, Community Engagement and Arts Education. The intern should be fluent with computers (PC/Mac), Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Internet Research and online social networking.  Adobe Software knowledge, graphic design & video editing skills, and prior marketing, event organizing & promotion experience is a plus.

Since 1997, Greenway Arts Alliance has been connecting communities through performing arts, educational programs, and local commerce. Our model funds holistic arts education programming in public schools through a community market, the Melrose Trading Post. The Melrose Trading Post, is a cultural destination for thousands of shoppers every Sunday that funds Greenway Institute for the Arts, a flourishing arts program at Fairfax High School, and Greenway Court Theatre, a home for works from emerging and established artists.
