Background

Kid City is a college access, youth leadership, and music program located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. We encourage students to access opportunities, explore their intellectual curiosity, and discover their ability to advocate for their communities. Kid City offers year-round programs in leadership development, music and arts, college access, and college completion in a welcoming and supportive environment. Music is woven through all Kid City activities, and the Kid City bands helps us bring life to our community events.  Yearly, we host an arts and community festival, Splash of LA, to celebrate the end of the summer before students return to school. Led and shaped by students, in 2023, Splash of LA welcomed 500+ attendees with the help of 25 high school student and 20 student performers in South Los Angeles for an afternoon of live performances, foods, and arts activities!
