Description

The Marketing Intern will be an important member of Inveritgo’s small, lively team and will help to maintain, assess and grow our performance events and public engagement. The intern will see all aspects of how a growing performing arts organization functions and creates on a daily basis, with emphasis on activities that enhance and expand marketing systems, accessibility, and audience development. Invertigo's staff will ensure the Intern gains rich experiences through a range of marketing projects, creative production, community programs, and development and fundraising campaigns.   Most of the intern’s work will be within traditional working hours:  9am-5pm , Monday-Friday, at the Invertigo office or remotely. Occasionally, Invertigo will  ask the intern to support and experience evening or weekend events. This position will work 15-20 hours per week June through December. 
 

Qualifications

The ideal intern will be community-minded, an excellent communicator and have an open, positive framework for working with a diverse range of people. Desired qualifications include: interest or background in dance, performing arts, creative production, public engagement, community-building, marketing and outreach, media and filmmaking skills, including editing, and graphic design skills.    The Intern will be able to take directions on projects and develop ideas and content independently. This requires enthusiasm, clear communication, good time management, and the ability to work with clear focus and an attention to detail and the big picture. Often the intern will work with other team members of the organization and this will require a collaborative, thoughtful and professional approach. This project will require creative problem solving, artistic thought, organizational thinking, solution-building and the ability to quickly learn or figure out a variety of creative strategies.

Invertigo Dance Theatre creates inventive performances and engagement programs grounded in storytelling, research, and collaboration with intersectional, multigenerational communities. With programming throughout LA County, Invertigo collaborates with a wide variety of choreographers, theatre companies, musical ensembles, social service agencies, education programs, performers, dancers, and designers to create accessible, thought provoking cultural experiences.
