Background

Kid City is a youth leadership and development center that provides year-round programs in college access and persistence, career readiness, and music programs within a welcoming environment. Located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, we encourage students to access opportunities, explore their intellectual curiosity, and discover their ability to advocate for their communities. Music is woven through all Kid City activities, and the Kid City bands help us bring life to our community events.  Yearly, we host an arts and community festival, Splash of LA, to celebrate the end of the summer before students return to school. Led and shaped by students, Splash of LA welcomes 500+ attendees ,with the help and leadership from 25 high school students and up to 20 student performers, in South Los Angeles for an afternoon of live performances, foods, and arts activities!
