"The Arts Education Intern will support arts-based programming for K-5 students, assisting with material preparation and organization, lesson planning, theater production, and social media content creation. This role offers hands-on experience in arts education and event coordination within a nonprofit setting. The position will work approximately 15-17 hours a week from June 2025 through March 2026.
As part of the role, the intern may be required to travel to different school campuses to assist with both summer camps and afterschool programs. This will provide the opportunity to gain experience in diverse educational environments and contribute to arts programming at multiple sites. Mileage from one work site to another will be reimbursed. Since the intern will be with students on school campuses, the intern will be required to clear a TB test and Live Scan fingerprinting, complete trainings, and meet other mandatory requirements. "
Preferred qualifications for this position include a passion for working with children and an interest in the arts, particularly in areas like visual arts, theater, or music. Familiarity with classroom management, basic event planning, and social media content creation is a plus. Strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to work both independently and in a team, and proficiency in programs like Canva or Microsoft Office are preferred. Previous experience working with children is also beneficial.
