September 25, 2026, marks the 59th Annual California Native American Day. California Native American Day is an official state holiday celebrated annually on the fourth Friday of September to honor the culture, history, and contributions of California's indigenous peoples.

On Monday, October 12, 2026, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, the Los Angeles City/County Native American Indian Commission will be partnering with The Huntington to host a panel discussion and light reception.

The Los Angeles City/County Native American Indian Self Governance Board Self Governance Board (LANAIC SGB) was established in 1993 by the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors. The LANAIC SGB fulfills the functions of a public Community Action Agency, a requirement of the federal Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) program. CSBG is a poverty alleviating grant that strives to increase self-sufficiency of people living in poverty.

The LA City/County Native American Indian Commission (LANAIC) was established in 1976 through a joint effort by the Los Angeles Native American community, and LA city and LA county governments. Please join us on Monday, October 12, 2026, at The Huntington to celebrate 50 years of the LANAIC!
