Sr. Fix-it & Sra. Versage pictures my mother and father in a formal portrait during the middle of their day. These are the Angelinos whose labor keeps washing machines running and communities of women empowered. Their labor and presence are what many folks in our close-knit community will remember. It is those who work for the community that will be remembered most by the community, for it is their labor that binds us. My folks have imparted a strong presence on the hundreds of people they have interacted with.

Todavia Tiene Uso depicts a man-made monument of random items of various degrees of necessity or usefulness. However, they will never be tossed out. This is common in immigrant households due to a lack of objects that they would functionally use back in their homeland. It is about being in a state of readiness for whatever may occur, hence why the pile-up will continue to grow. This is the man-made monument showing the need for useless objects that may someday find their use. Something that you will find in every immigrant Angelino’s home and something our generation will either resent or continue to carry on.
