Tides, 2021, Mural

The artist’s work draws inspiration from the landscape of the city–the view of the mountain ranges, the light and shadows shifting throughout the day, and the bright blue sky that illuminates Los Angeles. When walking between the two facing murals, Chin intends the viewer to feel and amplify the movement inherent throughout the Michelle and Barack Obama Sports Complex. These two murals are an invitation to see beyond what is, to celebrate the vibrancy and energy of the Complex, and the Crenshaw neighborhood and community.
